Celebrating National Dental Nurses Day!

At Portman Dental Care we currently employ just over 1,000 dental nurses and are currently training nearly 300 of our colleagues to become one. We simply couldn't do what we do without them. Our dentists rely on their support to assist with a range of dental treatments, and our patients really appreciate their care and compassion – so they know they’re in safe hands.

That’s why on 22 November 2023 we’re celebrating and recognising everything they do, by celebrating National Dental Nurses Day by saying a big thank you to all the dental nurses who make a difference each and every day. This year we’ve asked one of our qualified nurses and a trainee dental nurse why they love their job, and why working for Portman Dental Care is so great.

“I’ve been a dental nurse now 10 years for the same practice. I work with one specialist dentist, meaning I get to really focus on making every patient journey the best it can be. The training is great as I get to work with dentists with different specialisms, and with qualified dental nurses. One day it could be root canal treatment, and the next day it could be aesthetic dentistry. The variety means I’m absorbing such a broad range of knowledge and I know that will stand me in good stead for when I qualify.
